ROCKLAHOMA FAN PHOTOS

And so the days keep rolling on. We keep shuffling back and forth to work or play, yet it does not replace the experience of ROK, or even come close to it. God, how sad does that sound? Even worse, is what were we doing before ROK? Just existing, I suppose.

I was listening to part of Nikki Sixx's new CD and he says something so poignant, that I had to stop the car and listen all over again. He says,

"When you've tasted excess, everything else tastes bland"

Wow. How true is that? And what do you do with that knowledge? Now we have tasted excess, the rose colored glasses are off and we see the world for what it is and rather than finding hope for something better, we realize that our 14 year old selves had it right....run, run like hell! Run away from the man, run away from the establishment, don't cut your hair, don't be what "they" want you to be.

Is it too late? Have we succumb to the mind numbing drudgery that is "reality"? Have mortgages and bills and credit cards and country club memberships wound us into a world we so desperately tried to avoid? Are we so ingrained into the politically correct bullshit of the hour that we forgot to think for ourselves, blindly accepting the fate of our parents?

And what about ROK? Was it a generation awakening from the coma of complacency? It was for me and now I want to shrug it all, give up the responsibility that i was herded into. I want to be free..........but I am not 14 anymore. My legs won't move that fast and the pull of responsibility seems to be wherever I go. What to do? With the body of a stable 30 year old and the mind of a rebellious teen. I am inevidably, a rocker with a mortgage.
